February has been a month full of new beginnings and exciting challenges. I recently completed my first weekend of reformer Pilates training, and now I am diving into coursework while gaining valuable practice hours. Alongside this, I have launched a personal fundraising challenge for the DPJ Foundation, aiming to cover 100 miles through running, walking, riding, or cycling throughout the month. With 65.7 miles already behind me, I’m motivated to keep pushing forward. If you’re interested in volunteering for a reformer Pilates practice session or want to learn more about my journey, keep reading.

Progress in Reformer Pilates Training

Starting reformer Pilates training has been both challenging and rewarding. The reformer machine offers a unique way to build strength, flexibility, and balance through controlled movements. After completing the first weekend of training, I am now focusing on coursework to deepen my understanding of the techniques and principles behind this form of Pilates.

To gain hands-on experience, I am offering practice sessions where volunteers can join me for reformer Pilates practice hours. These sessions allow me to refine my skills while providing participants with a chance to experience reformer Pilates for free. If you want to volunteer for a session, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Fundraising Challenge for the DPJ Foundation

This February, I am also committed to a fundraising challenge supporting the DPJ Foundation. I will be covering 100 miles through running, walking, riding, or cycling. So far, I have completed 65.7 miles, and I’m excited to reach the finish line by the end of the month.

The DPJ Foundation is a Welsh mental health charity focused mainly on supporting people in the agricultural and rural communities of Wales. It is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (number 1173063) and operates throughout Wales.

What It Is

  • A mental health charity set up in July 2016 in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

  • Founded by Emma Picton-Jones after the suicide of her husband, Daniel Picton-Jones, who struggled with undiagnosed mental health problems while working in agriculture. Emma created the charity to offer support that Daniel never received.

How You Can Support the Challenge

If you want to support this fundraising effort, here are a few ways to get involved:

Every bit of support helps make a difference.

Online Training Programme Now Available

Alongside in-person sessions, I have launched an online training programme through Everfit. This platform offers a flexible and convenient way to stay active and improve your fitness from home.

Benefits of the Online Programme

  • Tailored workouts designed to fit your goals and fitness level.

  • Flexible scheduling so you can train when it suits you.

  • Progress tracking to keep you motivated and accountable.

  • Expert guidance through video demonstrations and detailed instructions.

Whether you’re new to Pilates or looking to enhance your current routine, the online programme provides a supportive environment to build strength and confidence.

Personal Training Slots Filling Quickly

My personal training (PT) slots are filling fast, but there are still a few spaces available. If you want one-on-one coaching tailored to your fitness needs, now is a great time to book a session. PT sessions focus on your individual goals, whether that’s improving Pilates technique, building strength, or enhancing overall fitness.

Power Trio

Also, we completed our first Power Trio sessions on Sunday where three lovely ladies joined me for a 3-2-1 Personal Training/ Small Class session based on strength-training. This occurred at Y Gampfa, Llandysul.

If you wish to hear more or book a session then get in touch! These times and dates will change each week so keep an eye on social media!

Looking Ahead

February has been a month of growth, learning, and giving back. The combination of reformer Pilates training, coursework, practice sessions, and the fundraising challenge has kept me motivated and focused. I encourage anyone interested in Pilates or supporting a meaningful cause to get involved.
