My name is Shannon, I’m 25 years old, and I’m originally from Manchester. I moved to beautiful West Wales 11 years ago — drawn by my passion for horses, especially Welsh cobs, which played a big part in the move.

 

Horses have always been a huge part of my life. They drive me to keep fit and perform at my best when competing, and they’ve taught me a lot about dedication, resilience, and routine.

 

I’m also a mum to two amazing little girls, aged six and one. But during my second pregnancy, I experienced extreme fatigue and a rollercoaster of symptoms. After a long labour, I was diagnosed with diastasis recti — the separation of the abdominal muscles — which left me struggling not just physically, but mentally too. My self-image took a hit, and I felt disconnected from the things I loved.

 

I worked hard to get back to feeling like “me” again — and I found my way through Pilates. It helped me reconnect with my body, rebuild strength, and start feeling confident again. But while online classes were a great starting point, I craved a real sense of community. I wanted to go to a class, to share energy and encouragement with others — but I was scared. I didn’t know where to start, and I worried what people might think.

 

That’s when I decided to take a leap.

 

After falling in love with how Pilates made me feel — not just physically, but mentally too — I chose to train as a Pilates instructor. I wanted to create the safe, supportive, empowering space I’d been searching for.

 

But it doesn’t stop there. I’ve also started organising local and international Pilates retreats, creating beautiful experiences where people can escape, reset, and reconnect with themselves through movement, nature, and shared energy. These retreats have been a dream come true — a way to combine wellness, travel, and connection all in one.

 

The name idea? That’s a fun one. Whenever I did workouts, there were two words I always dreaded hearing: “pulse” and “flex”. They brought the burn, the challenge, the discomfort… but they also brought the results and the feel-good afterwards. So I chose them to represent exactly that — even the tough moments lead to better days.

Following on from all of this chaos, I decided to develop my training and understanding of fitness further by completing my Level 3 Personal Training and Level 3 Reformer Pilates course. This has further developed my understanding of the fitness world.

 

And that’s where we are now.
